The Indianola City Council approved the strategic goals for the 2026 calendar year at their meeting on Monday. Indianola City Manager Jake Meshke says the council ranked a number of items based on how highly they would like to prioritize them.
“The city had partnered Callahan municipal consultants, really, to engage staff, engage Council, see some of the priorities that are on the horizon, specifically for 2026-2027 City Council then an opportunity to rate those goals and show which ones were their priorities. That culminated in a final report that was presented last night to the city council. Ultimately, that document was accepted by council, and now we will move into the phase where that adoption of the report will set the direction for staff, and that will help guide us on where we want to spend some of our time, as well as just accentuate the priorities for the community over the next couple of years.”
