
The Melcher-Dallas Girls basketball Squad defeated Moulton-Udell in the Casey’s Center on Thursday 45-24 while the shorthanded boys lost 54-44. Kesley Reed had another double double with 17 points and 11 rebounds while Madisyn DeJong and Danni Enfield scored seven points each. The boys went down by eight at the half and fought back to take the lead going into the 4th quarter but cold shooting would end up costing the Saints. Colton Cox led with 14 points. Tonight’s scheduled matchup with Mormon Trail has been postponed to February sixth due to the predicted severe cold weather. That also has postponed the inaugural Melcher-Dallas Athlete Hall of Fame Inductions to that date as well. Those scheduled to be inducted were Athletes Travis Branson, Jeff Fee, J’Lyn Knutson, and Beth Mathes, two coaches Jim Crozier and Jerry Pezzetti, one patron Lary Willoughby and one team the 1967 football team.
The Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas Boys Wrestling Squad went 1-1 at a home triangular on Thursday. The Warhawks/Saints beat Van Meter 53-28 while falling to I-35 40-36. Hudson Cox remained unbeaten on the season winning both matches at 106 pounds. Kyler Reschley also won twice with Eric Kirkpatrick and Tucker Branson winning one. Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas will head to the I-35 Invitational on Saturday.
