The Iowa DNR is holding three kayak practice pool sessions at the Indianola Wellness Campus Competition pool tomorrow from 10 a.m-12 p.m.
These pool sessions will be free to participants and will focus on introducing the equipment and gear used in whitewater kayaking, with the goal of teaching participants how to roll their kayaks.
Iowa DNR and IWC will be providing American Canoe Association (ACA) certified whitewater kayaking instructors and all the necessary equipment to teach the ins and outs of whitewater kayaking. The sessions are aimed at preparing kayakers for the whitewater projects currently under construction in downtown Des Moines.
