The Marion County Road Department will work on three bridge projects in the spring of 2026.

The road department expects these projects to ramp up in March as the weather starts to get nicer. The first project will be a large federal aid bridge over Cedar Creek on 168th Place south of Attica, and the second will be at the intersection of 20th Street and Quebec southwest of Melcher-Dallas, and both will be done by Herberger Construction. The last project will be done by Jasper County on the Marion County line just west of Highway T14 north of Pella. Marion County Engineer Tyler Christian says there will also be a few others going on this spring to maintain infrastructure.

“This spring we will also have some maintenance projects going on. We will be bidding out crack sealing on some recent asphalt overlays, we will look at doing some asphalt patching, some concrete saw and reseal so we are really just trying to maintain the infrastructure we have and prevent it from any further deterioration or deterioration to begin with.”
