
The Simpson basketball teams head east today to conclude their three-game road trip to take on the Loras Duhawks in an American Rivers Conference doubleheader. This will be the final matchups of two regular season meetings between the Storm and the Duhawks. The Simpson Women defeated Loras in Indianola in December 87-59 by shooting over 60% from the field. The Storm fell to Wartburg on Wednesday night 58-39 to drop to 9-8 and 5-3 in the A-R-C. The Loras women come into the matchup 6-11 and 2-6 in the A-R-C.
The Simpson men have arguably their biggest challenge of conference plate so far, as the Loras men’s team come into the matchup tied for first in the A-R-C with a 7-1 record in conference play. The two teams met in Indianola last month and ended with an 85-81 Duhawk victory. The Storm enter today coming off a 74-66 loss to Wartburg Wednesday night, in which Levi Gurwell had his third 20+ point game in his last four with a 21 point effort. Simpson comes into the game at 8-9 overall and 5-3 in the A-R-C, while Loras is 13-4 overall with a 7-1 A-R-C record.
