The Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce will host the organization’s 127th Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner tonight. The event at the Newton DMACC Building is an opportunity for the chamber to recognize the achievements of its members and community leaders, reflect on the past year, and look ahead to 2026 goals. Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director KayLea Marchant says businesses who join the Chamber of Commerce get several benefits.

“Like building your network, and meeting new and friendly faces. Growth and development for yourself personally, and  for your business as well. We also offer a dual membership with the Greater Des Moines Partnership. That’s huge as far as their training and the reach goes as well.”

During tonight’s event, the Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce will also give out their Spirit of Service and Key Awards. The Key Award recognizes individuals or groups for organizing or promoting outstanding community projects or events, while the Spirit of Service Award honors long-term involvement, dedication, and volunteerism in community betterment. The award winners do not have to be Chamber of Commerce members.
