After 33 years as Indianola Municipal Utilities  HR & Finance Director, Chris Longer has decided to retire. In 33 years with the company, Longer has seen many advancements in IMU’s history. The most notable would be the addition of the fiber utility. Well before Longer’s time at IMU, there was a vision that Indianola would someday own and operate its own telecommunications utility, and 10 years ago, the Board of Trustees approved a feasibility study, which led to the decision to build IMU’s current fiber system.
