Several awards were won by local high school baseball teams at the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association winter banquet held Saturday.

Coming off of the school’s first-ever state championship, Pella High School was well represented. Jesse Jablonski was the Class 3A coach of the year for the 2025 season, EJ Roncone was named assistant coach of the year in the central district, and won the “True Pitch” District Diamond honor in central Iowa for it’s field conditions.

Pleasantville’s Luke Adreon was honored as the Class 2A coach of the year for leading the Trojans to the state title.

Nathan Carlin of Indianola was selected as top coach in the Class 4A South Central District region. Scott Alberts of Lynnville-Sully earned the same recognition in Class 1A Southeast District and Stacy Alberts was the assistant coach of the year in that region. Jon Fitzpatrick of Martensdale-St. Mary’s was the Class 1A Southwest District Coach of Year. Blake Heitmeier of Carlisle was the Class 3A Southwest District coach of the year and Brady Harpenau of Carlisle was the Class 3A assistant coach of the year.

Knoxville’s Turner DeVore was recognized for crossing 200 career wins.

Joshua Baxter (Carlisle) was recognized for 15 years of service

Griffin Hatten (Norwalk) and Nick De Penning (Sully) were recognized as district umpires of the year.
