Students from PCM High School visited the Newton DMACC Campus on Monday. High school students from all the school districts in Jasper County periodically visit the campus to see what educational opportunities are available to them.
Newton DMACC Campus Executive Dean Bill Peters says there are more college credit classes available to high school students this school year, as more enrollment options were added over the summer.
“We have added several of those throughout the county to all of our different schools. That’s exciting because kids don’t have to leave their school to get that college credit. Just means kids get more college credits paid for, which makes their life a lot easier if they choose to move on.”
Peters says enrollment at the Newton DMACC Campus is solid, with more high school students coming onto the campus to take classes as well.
