
The Melcher-Dallas Boys basketball Squad ended its run in the Bluegrass Conference Tournament on a sour note falling to Seymour 56-to-39. The Saints and Warriors were even at 25 at halftime but Coach Matt Bennett told KNIA Sports foul trouble caused his team to be less aggressive in the second half. Reece Chiabotta had 17 points and ten rebounds and Colton Cox scored 11. Melcher-Dallas is off until next Thursday when the Saints host Cardinal.
Tonight is the girls turn to end the Bluegrass Conference Tournament and the Saints hope it ends on a high note after falling to Ankeny Christian in quarterfinals on Tuesday. Melcher-Dallas will travel to Moulton-Udell to take on Seymour tonight. The Saints have had two very different games, albeit wins over the Warriors. Melcher-Dalals beat Seymour on December 18th 30-22 and then blew out the Warriors on January 13th 58-18. Tip off is set for 6:00.
