The Norwalk School Board reviewed early budget planning for the 2026–27 school year and approved several staffing and operational items during its most recent meeting.

Among the discussion items was a review of two draft master calendars for 2026–27, along with an overview of the district’s budget process and timeline. Board members also reviewed a draft staffing and budget plan as administrators begin preparing recommendations for the upcoming school year.

Action items approved by the Norwalk School Board included an on-call custodial services agreement with Nationwide Office Cleaning to help cover weekend events and facility needs. The board also approved an amendment to a real estate purchase agreement, extending the due diligence period to February 6th due to delays with the abstract.

Additional approvals included updated requirements for Strat II special education teacher stipends, reflecting changes to licensing and language. The board also approved a pilot program with Varsity Tutors to provide live tutoring support for high school English learners in core content areas, with an initial focus on science and math. The board also moved forward with using Monday, February 16th, as a regular school day to make up for a weather-related cancellation earlier this winter.
