A short-handed Pella boys wrestling team couldn’t overcome missing key wrestlers against North Polk, falling in the final dual of the season to the Comets 45-36.
The Dutch honored five senior wrestlers and several contributors to the program before the back-and-forth battle on the mat. Pella was without two of their seniors, as Carter Van Kley and Brecken Ritzert remain out of the lineup until the district meet in two weeks.
Pella had victories from Carter Schroeder (106 – fall), Hudson Ritzert (126 – fall), Brayden Sundby (132 – fall), Dax Putz (138 – fall), Colby Putz (144 – fall), and Davion Lampkin (175 – fall).
The Dutch are next in action Saturday at the Little Hawkeye Conference tournament in Indianola.
