Kisha Jahner is seeking a new term on the Marion County Board of Supervisors.
Jahner is the current chair of the board after being nominated for the position in January for the second straight year. Jahner is in her last year of her second term on the Marion County Board of Supervisors and will now seek a third term. Jahner tells KNIA/KRLS that she wants to continue to serve the people of Marion County and that some of her main priorities are property taxes, seeing the recent salary study through, and development of Lake Red Rock through a trail system. Jahner says that Red Rock is a valuable resource in the county, and she wants to work on trail connection to help further the development.
“We have a large man-made lake in Iowa and most people know it, Lake Red Rock. We were blessed with the conservation side of that but we need to look at how we can further economic development around the lake so I have been working on a trail system.”
The trail study was approved by the board of supervisors earlier in the month and the goal is to have a trail corridor to complete the extension of the Red Rock Prairie Trail, which currently connects Prairie City to Monroe in Jasper County and then eventually form a connection to the Knoxville area. The 2026 election primary will be on June 2nd and the 2026 Midterm Elections will be on November 3rd.
