The Knoxville First United Methodist Church is holding a free community meal tonight.

The meal will be from 5-6:30 pm at the lower level of the church and will include beef burgers, chips, and a drink. The church does free meals on the first and last Wednesday of every month and Deb Greiner with the church says it is an opportunity to connect with the community.

“We went from doing one meal a month last year to doing two meals a month. I always hope that we will do more than that eventually. We want to see in our community a family be able to go somewhere every week for a meal that is free. We know that we do two and Riverside does one so the first Wednesday and the last Wednesday of the month we do meals.”

The church is located at 313 E Montgomery St.
