The Newton boys wrestling team went 3-0 in duals at Pleasantville High School on Tuesday. The Cardinals shutout Des Moines North 79-0, beat Saydel 72-8, and downed host Pleasantville 60-21.

The Cardinals won all nine contested matches against Des Moines North, and picked up three victories in the five contested matches with Saydel. Against Pleasantville, Newton took six of the ten contested weight classes. 

Asher Rhoads won all three of his contested matches at 175 pounds for the Cardinals, while two contested match winners for Newton were Zander Robson at 132 pounds, Aiden Robson at 150 pounds, Lane Rozendaal at 165 pounds, and Coleby Revell at 285 pounds. 

The Newton boys wrestling team will compete again Thursday in duals against BCLUW and South Tama at South Tama High School.
