Men's Basketball: Bridgewater State University Bears vs. Central College Dutch

The Central College basketball teams were swept in a doubleheader at Loras College Wednesday night, with the women falling 72-61 and the men dropping their game 89-66.

Second chance and fast break points came back to haunt the Central women, as Loras held an 18-5 advantage in second chance points and a 16-4 lead in fast break points. The Dutch trailed by as much as 17 near the end of the first half but cut it to a five-point deficit with a 10-0 run in the middle of the third quarter. Loras outpaced Central 24-21 in the fourth quarter to seal the win. CeCe Moore led Central with 15 points and seven rebounds. Maddie Backer added 13 points and Emily Naughton had 10.

In the nightcap, Loras led wire-to-wire against the Central men, forcing 18 turnovers and scoring 20 points off them. Freshman Kyle Cason led the way for the Dutch with 21 points and six rebounds. Braylon Thomsen had 15 points and six rebounds and Anthony Gott also had six rebounds.

Central goes back to Dubuque on Saturday for a doubleheader against the University of Dubuque, and both games can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS beginning at 1:50 pm.
