The Knoxville City Council approved the contract and plans for the 2026 Street Improvements Project at their meeting Monday.
The city does an annual street improvements project with streets that are outlined in their pavement management study. The streets included in the 2026 project are East Competine, West Marion, South Roche, and West Grand View. The council received five bids for the project and approved the bid from TK Concrete for just over $690,000. City Manager Heather Ussery says the city is happy with the bids that came in.
“The engineers estimate was $906,000 and our low bid came in 24% lower than that, so we had some good bids and some competitive bids and we were pleased to be able to award the contract to TK Concrete.”
The project is expected to start in April and finish by November.
