The Newton boys and girls basketball teams will host Indianola tonight in games that were postponed from January 23rd due to cold weather. 

The Newton boys are coming off their first conference win against Pella Christian, but lost to Indianola 73-58 the first time the two teams met this season in Indianola. The Indians outscored the Cardinals 43 to 26 over the third and fourth quarters, and collected thirteen more rebounds. Indianola also shot 56% from the field compared to Newton’s 43%. 

The Newton girls were also defeated by Indianola 46-29 on the road earlier this season. The third quarter was the difference in the prior matchup, as the Indians outscored the Cardinals 21-8. Newton also committed 27 turnovers in the game compared to Indianola’s 13.
