Indianola Mayor Steve Richardson talked about the safety of e-bikes at his monthly “Coffee with the Mayor” meeting Wednesday at Uncommon Ground Coffee House. Richardson advised parents to make sure their children are wearing helmets and riding at a safe speed. 

“Riding those vehicles, please put a helmet on. Some of those go as fast as 20-25 mph. Anytime an accident like that would happen you would have a traumatic head injury if you hit your head on the concrete, or whatever you hit it on. I just ask people to put a helmet on and be mindful of the people that are not on e-bikes.”
