The PCM varsity basketball teams will wrap up conference play tonight on the road at Roland-Story in a Heart of Iowa Conference doubleheader.
Both teams are coming off wins over South Hamilton on Tuesday night as the girls team won 62-33 and the boys team won 79-45. The #6 PCM girls are 18-1 overall and have won 17 games in a row and will face a 15-3 Roland-Story squad who sits right behind them in the conference standings. If PCM wins they will claim an outright conference title. The Mustang girls are currently led in scoring by Tori Lindsay who is averaging 13.7 points per game and defensively as a team, PCM is only allowing 30 points per game.
The Mustang boys are 12-6 overall and will take on a 13-4 Norseman team who are currently second in the conference. The PCM boys are fifth in a conference standings but a win tonight could finish them as high as third. The PCM boys are led in scoring by Chase Wagaman who is averaging 10.5 points per game but the Mustangs have been playing as deep as eight guys on their bench this season and have seen a strong balance of scoring.
Tonight’s girls game in Story City starts at 6:00 pm with the boys game to follow.
