A deadline is fast approaching for an annual fundraiser at the Newton Public Library. The Tiny Art Show features 4” by 4” canvases that are picked up at the Library and painted or decorated some other way by kids and adults, and then returned to the library to be auctioned off. Newton Public Library Public Services Librarian Rebecca Klein says most years they’ve had just under 100 pieces of tiny art to sell, with proceeds from the auction going to support the many programs at the library.

“We have programs for all ages, children, teenagers, and adults. So these funds could go to things like our children’s summer reading program, they could go to adult programs like our arts and crafts program. We have painting classes and watercolor classes coming up.”

The 4” by 4” artwork needs to be returned to the library no later than this coming Monday, February 9th. They will be on display at the Newton Public Library from Thursday, February 12th through the night of the silent auction, which is scheduled for 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the library on Thursday, February 26th.
