The Knoxville Racing Charitable Organization (KRCO) is seeking donations for their annual fundraiser at the end of the month.
The 14th annual event will be held at Dyer Hudson Hall on Saturday, February 28th and the event will include food, and a live and silent auction. KRCO sells 50/50 tickets at Knoxville Raceway, with the help of community organizations, to raise money to provide insurance policies, safety equipment and donations to injured drivers. They are a 501(C)3 non-profit organization and with the help of the Board of Directors and many volunteers, KRCO provided insurance for drivers totaling over $25,000. With the sales of the 50/50 tickets, KRCO donated close to $92,000 in safety equipment and medical expenses to injured drivers in 2025. Over $128,000 was given in prize winnings to fans and over $37,000 was donated to community organizations.
The group is still looking for auction donation items for the event and in the past, those have included gift certificates, race memorabilia, gift baskets, t-shirts, cash donations and more. KRCO President Brooke Nott says they will accept a wide variety of donations.
“Each year we collect all kinds of donations from women’s baskets, men’s baskets, kids Easter baskets, driver memorabilia, autographs of any kind, and just whatever you think you as a race fan might buy. We collect donations for the silent auction such as baskets of different kids, wine baskets, movie baskets, really anything you can think of that you would like to donate. For the live auction we do a lot of race memorabilia such as hoods, wings, and drivers suits, different things like that.”
