
The PCM girls basketball team defeated Roland-Story on the road Friday night to claim a conference title as the boys team came up short in a Heart of Iowa Conference doubleheader.
The #6 PCM girls found themselves down early as they trailed 17-9 at the end of the first quarter and 25-20 at half. The Mustangs would then trail by ten points at the end of the third quarter but outscore the Norseman 19-7 in the fourth for a comeback win to claim an outright conference title and finish conference play perfect. The Mustang girls were led in scoring by Tori Lindsay who had 18 points. The PCM girls have now won 18 straight games to improve to 19-1 overall. The Mustang girls will conclude their regular season on Tuesday against Van Meter.
The Mustang boys had a tough night offensively as they dropped their contest to Roland-Story 62-40. The PCM boys were led in scoring by Alex Wendt who finished with 12 points. The PCM boys fall to 12-7 overall and finish league play with a 10-6 mark. The PCM boys will next compete on Tuesday at Knoxville.
