The Indianola basketball teams are hosting the Pella Dutch tonight. The Indians look to get back on track after both teams fell on the road at Dallas Center-Grimes Friday.
On the girls side, Indianola went to Pella in January and won 42-30 and snapped a six-game losing streak to Pella. Indianola has overcome key injuries for a large portion of the season but have continued to stand tall against conference opponents. The Indians are led by Junior Madison Grover who didn’t play in that first meeting with Pella. The Indians enter the game 12-7 and 6-4 in the LHC while Pella is 11-8 and also 6-4 in the LHC.
The Indianola boys fell to the Dutch earlier in the season 60-50 and were led by Easton McGraw with 18 points and George Blake had 15. Those two have been the main offensive weapons for the Indians as both players are averaging double figures. For the Dutch, they are led by Senior Austin Schulte who is averaging 17 points a game while Jack McGuire is just behind Schulte at 16.9 points a game. Pella has won the last five against Indianola. The Indians enter the game at 8-8 and 5-5 in the LHC, while fourth-ranked in Class 3A Pella, is 16-3 overall and 8-2 in the LHC, sharing a lead with Norwalk for the top record in the conference.
