Students from Knoxville and Pleasantville High Schools competed at the Iowa High School Speech Association Large Group State Contest on Saturday.

Students from the two schools competed at the southeast region site at Clear Creek-Amana High School. Knoxville had a musical theater entry which received a division two rating. Pleasantville received division one ratings for short film, two musical theater entries, readers theater, and ensemble acting, and division two ratings for three improv entries. Pleasantville’s short film titled “What you Need” was chosen for all-state recognition. 

The All-State Large Group Contest will be Saturday, February 21st at Iowa State University.
