As part of its February cake pan promotion, the Pella Public Library is offering a Cake Decorating Basics class on Monday at 2:00 pm.
As part of the program, two employees from the Pella Hy-Vee Bakery will teach those in attendance techniques and tips for decorating cakes. During the month of February, the library encourages the community to check out a cake pan from their collection that features a wide variety of pans. Carol Weihe with the Pella Public Library says that those that check out a cake pan will also take home a cake mix and frosting.
“So for five years now, our local Hy-Vee and Fareway have been donating cake mix and frosting for people to get when they check out one of our 100+ cake pans. We have Winnie the Pooh, we have Superman, we have Scooby Doo, round, square, oval, we have all kinds of things, but a lot of people don’t know about our cake pans. So we have this promotion in February, where they can check one out and get the cake mix and frosting, and as an added element, we are having the cake decorating class.”
The Cake Decorating Basics class is free and open to ages 12 and older, but registration is required and can be done by calling the library at 641-628-4268 or by using the link here.
