The Simpson College men’s gymnastics program collected a pair of ECAC weekly honors as Braxton Jones was named ECAC Routine of the Week and Noah Doiron earned Co-Rookie of the Week recognition.
Jones captured routine of the week for the third time in his career after delivering a record-tying performance on vault. The sophomore closed Simpson’s vault rotation with a stuck Kasamatsu 3/2, posting a score of 14.450 to win the event outright against Greenville and California. The mark tied his career high and matched the Simpson program record, while also standing as the highest vault score recorded across the ECAC competitors over the weekend.
Doiron was named co-rookie of the week following an impressive all-around debut for the Storm. He totaled a score of 68.950, highlighted by scores of 12.250 on floor, 13.250 on vault, and 12.050 on parallel bars. His performance earned him his first collegiate all-around title.
The Storm head to Lincoln this weekend to face Nebraska, Greenville, and William & Mary.
