The 2nd Annual Washer City Card Convention will be held next month, at a new location in Newton.
The fundraiser for the United Way of Jasper County and the Iowa Foundation debuted back in October at Iowa Speedway. Executive Director of the United Way of Jasper County Jessica Lowe Vokes says that the two-day vendor show this year for sports and non-sports card enthusiasts will be held on Friday and Saturday, March 20th and 21st at the DMACC Newton Conference Center.
“A lot of people are really into it. It’s just like a craft vendor fair, but people are selling sports and non-sports trading cards.”
Admission and parking for the Washer City Card Convention are free. The fundraiser generates revenue from vendor tables and celebrity autographs and photos, with 100% of the proceeds going to the United Way of Jasper County and the Iowa Foundation. Both organizations serve Newton and Jasper County children and families.
