The Norwalk School Board reviewed district career planning progress and approved several operational and planning items at its most recent meeting.

District leaders presented the annual review of the District Career and Academic Plan, highlighting goals, action steps, and progress made since last year. The plan outlines how the district prepares students for college, career, and life readiness through academic programming and support services.

The board approved presenters for the district’s Learners and Leaders Conference scheduled for September 2026. Board members also approved art curriculum supply purchases to support the district’s K-12 program, with no significant changes to state art standards requiring major curriculum revisions.

In planning matters, the board set March 9th as the public hearing date for the 2026-2027 school calendar. The board also approved the district’s staffing and budget plan with no changes from its January review.

The board awarded the bid for the high school roofing project to Brockway Mechanical, with the low bid coming in more than $71,000 under budget. Board members also received the district’s fiscal year 2025 certified audit report and approved an agreement for on-call janitorial services to help support weekend events and activities. The meeting concluded with a closed session for the board’s quarterly review of superintendent goals and progress.
