The Pella Community Food Shelf is hosting the Coldest Night of the Year 5K on February 28th.
The Coldest Night of the Year is an annual, family-friendly walk/run fundraiser hosted in locations across the United States and Canada. The event will be held at Trinity Reformed Church, with check-in beginning at 4 pm, followed by the opening remarks, the 5K, and a light meal. The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio will also be in attendance at the event playing music and providing updates. Pella Community Food Shelf Executive Director Melissa Zula says that they enjoyed hosting the event for the first time last year, and they are hoping to see even more people participate this year.
“We love this event. It was so much fun last year, it was just beyond our wildest dreams. We didn’t know what we didn’t know, and then you’re planning it and you’re going along, and right there at the very end we had so many great walkers come out. So, we’re making a call out to all of the more than a hundred of you that were there last year. Please show up at our door again at Trinity Church on February 28th, we desperately need your support.”
