It has felt a whole lot like spring across the region for several days, and that has it feeling more and more like Tulip Time in Pella, even if it’s still nearly three months away.
Pella Historical Museums Executive Director Jessi Galligan says one of the first signs of spring in the Tulip City is the debut of royalty ahead of the celebration in May.
Tulip Queen Kenzie Kanis and her Royal Court of Lexi Terpstra, Abbie Brand, Addie Van Arendonk, and Riley Braafhart will have their first public performance of their annual program on Tuesday, March 24th at 7 p.m., this year at the Pella Opera House. The evening also includes the debut of the Royal Court’s costumes and a performance by the Dutchesses. The event is free and open to the public.
Each year, the queen and court make dozens of appearances around the community and the state to promote Tulip Time, which will be held May 7th though the 9th.
