The record setting year continued for Emma Cooper as she once again broke her own school record in the 60m dash as Simpson competed at the Darren Young Classic on Saturday.

Meet Highlights:

  • Cooper shattered her own record in the 60m dash, beating her best by 0.05 of a second, taking second overall with a time of 7.77 seconds. The mark was the 38th fastest in NCAA Division-III this year.
  • The day was not over for Cooper as she also won the 200m dash and long jump, earning two of the four first place marks for Simpson.
  • Gabby Akin won the 60m hurdles with her top-10 mark of 9.32 seconds, placing her 10th in school history.
  • Emma Lueck finished runner-up to Cooper in the long jump but the sophomore placed 10th best in school history with a mark of 5.22m.
