The Warren County Board of Supervisors approved the designation to name mile markers 107 to 130 of Highway 92 to the George Washington Carver Memorial Highway. Those 23 miles on that specific highway separates the towns of Indianola and Winterset. Washington walked that stretch to eventually study at Simpson College to pursue his academics.
