After a spring-like stretch settled into the area, winter returns later today to south central Iowa.

A winter weather advisory is in place starting this evening and continuing through Friday morning. Accumulating snow of 1-4″ is possible during that time.

Those with travel plans this evening are reminded to use caution and to avoid crowding snow plows.
