The Iowa Department of Insurance and Financial Services is hosting a free Iowa Fraud Fighters presentation in Knoxville on Thursday.

The event will be at 6:00 pm at the Knoxville Public Library and the seminar highlights will include common scam tactics, tips for prevention, and reporting information. Knoxville Public Library Adult Services Librarian Cari Meissner says this is an opportunity to help spread more awareness regarding scams. 

“It’s going to be a presentation on scam awareness. There are always all sorts of calls and emails and all that crazy stuff trying to scam you out of money or information. This is just a way to come and listen to what they are saying to learn how to protect yourself and prepare yourself.”
