During the middle portion of the season, the Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad hit a patch up adversity. During the two week stretch, they went 3-3 and were without starting point guard Drake Larson, due to an injury. During the time, Jacob Mitirisin stepped into the line up and took advantage of the opportunity given to him and made the most of it, so much so that when Larson came back, Mitrisin became a vital part of the team’s rotation. Coach Joel Keady tells KNIA/KRLS Sports this did not come as a surprise to anyone on the team because due to an injury of Mitirisin’s own to start the season, he was a bit delayed showing everyone what he is capable.

(Keady “…really well.”) :25

In 19 games played this season Mitrisin’s assist to turnover ratio is nearly 2-1 in favor of assists plus he is shooting nearly 55% from the field. The 19-3 Panthers will take on Creston this Monday in the 1st round of the Class 3A Substate. Live coverage is on 95.3 KNIA at 6:30.
