
The Pleasantville boys basketball team fell on the road to Grundy Center Saturday night in the Class 2A Substate 3 quarterfinals.
The Trojan boys jumped out to an early lead and ended the first quarter on top 20-13. The 20-1 #5 ranked Spartans would outscore Pleasantville in the second but the Trojans would still go to half on top 38-34. In the third quarter Pleasantville would outscore Grundy Center 19-18 and lead 57-52 entering the final frame. The Trojans ultimately couldn’t hang on in the final frame as they dropped the contest 79-70 after Grundy Center scored 29 in the fourth quarter. Pleasantville was led in scoring by Drake Elliott who had 22 and Braylon Bingham who had 17. Pleasantville ends their season with a 14-9 overall record.
