The #4 in 3A Pella boys basketball team begins what it hopes is a home road to the state tournament as the Class 3A substate bracket launches tonight.

The Dutch welcome Fairfield for the opener of the playoffs. Pella finished the 2025-26 regular season at 18-4 overall and runners-up in the Little Hawkeye Conference, earning the No. 1 seed in Class 3A Substate 5 in the process.

The Trojans arrive at 2-18 overall, having dropped 12 games in a row. Pella owns the all-time series against Fairfield 14-1, having won five in a row since 2018 and most recently playing in December 2023.

The 2026 Trojans are led by Ethan Bisgard, a junior averaging 12.4 points per game.
