The Indianola City Council is finalizing the 2027 fiscal year’s budget of $44,000,000. One of the departments that will be affected is the Indianola Parks & Recreation Department. Indianola City Manager Jake Meshke says hours are being reduced along with how often the parks are mowed.

“Reducing our hours for seasonal and part-time staff for parks and recreation, as well as reducing the number of mowings that we have in our parks. We also are looking at some potential reductions in our parks and recreation youth development programming if we’re not able to find other partners to collaborate on those items.”
