The Indianola girls basketball team has a tall task when they head to take on the undefeated Johnston Dragons tonight in the Class 5A Region 1 Final. Indianola is coming off a 63-38 victory over Ottumwa, which included 25 unanswered points and the team finishing the half on a 36-5 run. The Dragons have won the last two state titles and are currently riding a 75-game win streak. Johnston is led by Notre Dame commit, Senior Jenica Raine Lewis. Lewis averages 21 points a game and is a top-25 ranked player nationally. Johnston has taken five in a row from the Indians, with Indianola’s last win coming in 2017 against the Dragons.
