The Knoxville School Board approved a tentative agreement and master contract with the Knoxville Education Association at their meeting Monday.

The school district negotiations team came to an agreement between the district and education association through June 2028 as the current contract exists with the exception of increased salary for certified staff. The base pay for certified staff will increase by $450 in salary schedule A, with TSS being increased by $561 per full time equivalency. Step 0 pay will be $39,779 with the hiring base being $51,289 and current employees under the master contract will receive a step of experience. The education association will now need to ratify the proposal for official board approval. Superintendent Cassi Pearson says their goal is to benefit the district employees, but also remain fiscally responsible.

“Our goal is always to retain and recruit the very best staff possible keeping education at the forefront of all of those conversations while also balancing our budget and remaining fiscally responsible to our tax payers.”
