The Pleasantville girls basketball team will take on Treynor tonight in the Class 2A Region 6 Final with a trip to the state tournament on the line.

The Trojan girls have been playing lights out as of recently and have earned three straight regional victories including wins against Cardinal, Mount Ayr and Sigourney. Pleasantville is now 13-11 on the season and will have a tough test ahead against a #6 ranked 20-2 Cardinals squad. However, the Trojans have proven up to the test recently as their second regional game included a win over a one loss #12 ranked Mount Ayr squad. The Trojans are led in scoring by Liv Klootwyk who is averaging 12.4 points per game but they have seen a variety of significant contributions across the board on the offensive and defensive side of play in this regional stretch.

The Cardinals are coming off regional wins over Interstate 35 and Southwest Valley and are led in scoring by Ella Thornton who is averaging 13.1 points per game. Tonight’s contest will be a neutral site game which will be played at West Central Valley High School. Tip-off for tonight’s regional final in Stuart starts at 7:00 pm.
