Newton senior Isabelle Rawlins has signed to play volleyball at Marshalltown Community College. Rawlins says she considered attending some other colleges, but looks forward to being part of a revamped Tiger program.
“I liked what they offered me at Marshalltown. I like the coaches. The staff treated me well after the visit. I love the school.”
Rawlins mother is a teacher, and she plans to follow in her mom’s footsteps by studying Secondary Education, so she can become a middle or high school teacher and coach.
Rawlins moved to Newton in 2024 for her junior year and says she loved playing for the Cardinals. This past season she had 513 assists, pushing her past 2,000 assists in her high school career. Rawlins started all 26 matches for Newton and had 33 kills out of 77 attempts with no kill errors, for a kill efficiency of .429.
