Melcher-Dallas Athlete Reece Chiabotta made it official on Friday by signing to continue his education and football career at Simpson College. This fall, Chiabotta was among the leaders for the Saints passing for 1,321 yards and 16 touchdowns and ran for 522 more. When he gets to Simpson, he will likely play wide receiver, which is what he preferred to do.

Chiabotta: “It just felt like home when I went for my visit, and I know some of the players there. I’ll play wide receiver, which is what I wanted to do, they left it up to me to choose and that’s what I wanted.”

Chiabotta is a multi-sport athlete at Melcher-Dallas. He averaged 15.7 points per game this past basketball season, also leading the team with 47 assists. Chiabotta will be a criminal justice major.
