A Monroe man accused of fleeing from police on Highway 163 last October received probation and a deferred sentencing following a plea agreement.
Twenty-one year old Izaiah Jakob Ulrey pled guilty to one count of eluding, a Class D felony, and had a charge of operating while under the influence dismissed.
A criminal complaint filed in Marion County District Court accused Ulrey of traveling 118 miles per hour in a 65 MPH zone. After a traffic stop attempt, police initiated a brief pursuit before calling it off due to gravel dust. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office later found the vehicle crashed in Otley.
Ulrey has been placed on two years of probation with a deferred sentence. A hearing was held this past Thursday.
