pella-boys-substate-vs-keokuk-2026-14

A new opponent awaits the #4 in 3A Pella boys basketball team in the state quarterfinals. After one of the substate finals was postponed, the final bracket is set for next week’s state tournament at the Casey’s Center, and features an opening round matchup for the Dutch with Carroll on Monday at 12:15 p.m.

The Tigers are in the final season in the Raccoon River Conference — and their departure ultimately led to Pella’s invitation and subsequent joining of the new league in two seasons.

In the meantime, the two teams will clash for the first time in the Bound era, with Carroll serving as the #5 seed and finishing the 2026 season #6 in the 3A rankings, rating as the 3rd place team in their conference. The 20-5 Tigers are led by Seniors Jared Mohr and his 14.9 points per game, Mac Collison and his 11.6 points per contest, and Trey Tassell and his 11.3 points per game.

Pella is making its 20th ever appearance at state, five years after winning the school’s third championship.

Monday’s live coverage of Dutch state boys basketball tournament action begins at 11:45 a.m. on 92.1 KRLS.
