Ice is almost completely melted at all bodies of water in Marion County.
According to Marion County Conservation Director Cale Edwards, ice is melted on all the smaller bodies of water. Edwards also said that the Marion County Park Lake is ice free and most of Roberts Creek is as well. Edwards adds that there are still numerous large sheets of ice adrift in various bays and coves of Lake Red Rock and the area “north” of the Mile Long Bridge still has a large amount of ice on it. Warm temperatures today and 50 degree temperatures forecasted for all of next week are expected to completely melt the remaining ice.
Marion County Conservation says that they typically see open water fishing begin to pick up in April.
