tori-signing

Newton senior Tori White has signed her National Letter of Intent to join the women’s track and field team at Minnesota State University Moorhead in Moorhead, Minnesota. White has qualified for the State Track and Field Meet in each of her three previous seasons as a high jumper, and has qualified twice in both the 100-meter hurdles and the shuttle hurdle relay.

In addition to her success in track and field, White has also shined for the Newton girls swimming and basketball teams. This past swim season, White was a member of the 200-yard and 400-yard freestyle relay teams that both placed ninth at the State Meet. She followed that up on the basketball court by leading the Cardinals in steals, while ranking second on the team in scoring, rebounding, and assists. White chose to pursue track in college because she enjoys the practices and believes it’s what she has excelled at most.

“I just always love going to practices. I know at state, I have placed more consistently over the years. I have been going since I was a freshman. I just feel like I have excelled more in track and been more of a standout in that, I’d say.”

At Minnesota State University Moorhead, White plans to major in nursing to pursue a career in pediatrics.
