The Open Arms Foundation of Jasper County will be handing out a new award next month to honor someone who has demonstrated outstanding dedication to protecting, advocating for, and prioritizing the well-being of children in Jasper County. 

The Open Arms Guardian Award will be an annual recognition for professionals and volunteers who serve as guardians for the best interests of children. Nominations are open to any individual who works directly with children in Jasper County, including but not limited to law enforcement officers, teachers, school staff and administrators, health and human services professionals, child advocates and foster care providers, as well as coaches and community volunteers. The nominations will be reviewed by a committee affiliated with the Open Arms Foundation of Jasper County. The recipient of the Open Arms Guardian Award will be recognized by the Open Arms Foundation of Jasper County at a community event or through a public announcement.
