A warm early-March afternoon could give way to strong thunderstorms this evening across the region. According to the National Weather Service, scattered storms may produce large hail, damaging winds, and possibly an isolated tornado — especially after 6:00 this evening. This is especially true if daytime highs reach the upper 60s and low 70s. The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team will provide live, on-air coverage of any severe thunderstorm or tornado warning in Marion County, or those impacting the Indianola, Norwalk, and Newton areas.
